Netanyahu given chance to form Israel's new government

Benjamin Netanyahu was given another opportunity by Israeli president Rivlin to form another government after the Wednesday elections. Netanyahu will be given 28 days to form a government to have a majority in the 120 member Israeli parliament. Israeli president Rivlin is also pushing for a unity government between Netanyahu and Gantz especially since they were running against each other during the elections. The two parties held talks on Tuesday but that quickly fell down. Netanyahu believes that a unity government is the only way to settle a political statement especially since Gantz won the endorsement by one vote over Netanyahu. The last unity government was in 1980 and each leader served for two years of the four terms. Between the two politicians Netanyahu was given the chance to start the new government. Gantz in no way wants to share power with the prime minister due to different political ideas.
